In Almada the team will study vegetation, herbivorous mites, lichens, and birds.
Almada is a city facing Lisbon on the other side of the Tagus. Almada has been settled by humans since 5000 years ago, and had an Arab/ Berber port maintained until the Reconquista in 1147. Almada is a modern city, urbanised starting in the 1950s. Though it has few established urban green areas, it has many remnants of its recent rural origins, including forest remnants.
