Where to learn about urban nature!
Here is some news about upcoming conferences, symposiums and workshops that may be of interest.
First, BIOVEINS is organizing a symposium on "Greening Cities: Biodiversity, Data and Knowledge". What is the place of nature in green cities? If you are a local or regional decision maker working on urban areas, a landscape designer, an urban green area manager, someone who studies these things, or even a social entrepreneur trying to make cities more just, sustainable and livable, this is for you! We will look at how to use expert knowledge and available biodiversity data to fit nature into cities and urban projects. We will have some workshops as well. The date is 13 January 2020 at Les Canaux, Paris, France. Further information on registration and a programme will be shared soon in this space.
** Here is some information on a workshop on Nature-Based Solutions: The University of Trento organizes the ReNature 3rd Training Course, a three-day training course on Nature-based Solutions in Urban Planning. The course, organized within the ReNature project (http://renature-project.eu/), will upskill participants in: understanding the ecological foundations of NBS, assessing their impacts on ecosystem services and their socio-economic implications, identifying planning barriers and opportunities, applying key principles for NBS design.
This training course is open to external participants and is aimed at PhD students, post-doc and research fellows, practitioners, and public officers interested in planning and designing NBS to address urban challenges.
More information about the course and the form for the registration can be accessed from here: https://webmagazine.unitn.it/en/evento/dicam/70384/renature-training-course
** This event also looks interesting, if you will be in Brussels on the 10th of December:
Invitation to the event on "Tools, Methods and Guides to Renature Cities" can be found at the following link:

** This also looks really interesting if you're in Chile and interested in broader issues of social and environmental justice and adaptation: En nombre del Simposio Internacional Conocimiento, Cultura y Acción Climática (KCCA 2019) queremos invitarle a participar en KCCA 2019.
** This conference on Cities as Social Ecological Systems looks great and its in Poznan, a Bioveins city, next summer!
